History of the Department
Statistics Department took off as an option in the Department of Mathematical Sciences under a single Head of Department in the 2002/2003 academic session. Statistics, however gained autonomy as a Department on July 15, 2016 with twelve academic members of staff and Prof. R.A. Adeleke as a pioneer Head of Department. Dr. Babalola B. Teniola is the Acting Head of Department as at present. The Department has a computer laboratory shared with Mathematics equipped with different statistical packages for teaching and learning.
