Dean’s Profile

Professor Lawrence Oladimeji Ademilua appointed as the Dean of the newly created Faculty of Physical Sciences, which was carved out of the erstwhile Faculty of Science on October 15, 2025He graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree in Physics with Second Class (Upper Division) from the then Ondo State University, Ado Ekiti, now Ekiti State University in 1993. He thereafter proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife for his M.Sc and Ph.D in Applied Geophysics which he obtained in 1997 and 2007 respectively.Professor Ademilua joined the services of the then Ondo State University, Ado Ekiti in 1999 as an Assistant Lecturer and rose through the ranks to become a Professor in 2017. He has held many administrative positions such as Head, Department of Geology, Dean, Students’ Affairs and Chairman, Ceremonies Committee.He belongs to many professional bodies including the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA, the Nigerian Council of Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG) and the Nigerian Mining and Geosciense Society (NMGS).The appointment, which is for two years, took effect from 7th October, 2025.
